English fine bone china has been produced at the Staffordshire factory of Ridgway since 1808. The styles are typical for the period, the peony shaped cups, the scallop edged saucers and plates, with floral or landscape decoration. All pieces from the factory were hand made and beautifully hand coloured and gilded with 24ct gold. This range of bone china tea wares dates to the early years, pattern number 168, circa 1830s. Fabulous decoration of multi-coloured flowers on a pure white china with a faun border and heavily gilded.
The Trio consists of a. Tea Cup 5.5 cm high x 9.8 cm diam. Coffee cup 6 cm high x 8 cm diam. Saucer 14.7 cm diam.
Ridgway pattern number to base 2/168. Excellent condition, fabulous colours, no damage or repair, age is over 100 years. As these are all hand painted patterns may differ slightly.
