Shelley Wileman Daisy Teaset 1880s Pink
Listed is an outstanding find from Wileman and Co The Foley Company a pre Shelley Art Nouveau 1890s Vintage Teacup Duo of cup and saucer in various shades of muted hot pink on cream ground and edged in gold. The pattern of both pieces is identical with abstract florals and scrolls in plus delicate soft outlines of flowers and leaves.
The shape with deep panels and exaggerated scalloping is on both pieces. The backstamp with the Wileman monogram dates this design to 1896. The pieces are stamped Rd. #1172720 with an overlay stamp of Rd. These numbers were was registered in the Patents Office in 1889 and 1888 respectively. The number Rd#115510 is attributed to the Daisy shape also denoted by the number in gold handwriting 6022 on both pieces. This listing is for one duo that is one cup and one saucer. The set's condition overall is very good; the gilding along the edges of the pieces is still intact.
