The London shape was first released by Spode in the early part of the nineteenth century and then quickly copied by the other potteries like Coalport and Minton. Early pieces were generally unmarked with the factory name, only with an iron red pattern number and this makes it hard to determine who made it.

However this set is all quality in throwing and painting. Now highly collectable this Regency tea set is typical of the era having a gentle scalloped London shape and upright handles. Made of early white china clay, each piece has been hand painted with panels of floral sprays on a Salmon pink ground and lavishly gilded. Teacup - 5 cm x 10 cm diameter. Coffee cup - 6.5 cm x 8.5 cm diameter.

Saucer - 15 cm diameter. Excellent Condition, no crazing just a tiny bit of gilding rub - 200 years old.
